Review – The Single Best Thing by Elaine Spires

I have absolutely loved each and every book in this Singles’ Series by Elaine Spires and was gutted when she said that the fifth book was the last one, but I’m SO glad that she listened to her readers and gave us just one more. Perhaps if we keep doing this, they’ll just continue as and when she has time to write them. LOL! I’n delighted to give you my thoughts below on The Single Best Thing.

About the book

Almost four years have passed since Melv followed Eve back to England refusing to throw away their long awaited chance of lasting love and happiness. Much has happened in that time. No longer a tour manager for Travel Together, Eve is enjoying unexpected success in her new career. Has she forgiven him for hurting her so deeply? Was her love for him simply enough? And what about her own dark secret?

Provoking smiles and tears this glimpse into Eve’s future brings the Singles’ Series to its final conclusion.

So what did I think?

I’ve loved this series from the very first book. Eve is such a wonderfully warm, brilliantly written character who I really feel has become a good friend over the last few years. As the books have progressed, I’ve enjoyed all the locations that we’ve visited together and reading one of Elaine’s books, really does transport you to the location. She writes using all of the senses which really does bring a location to life.

The Single Best Thing was not what I thought it would be but was better still. I loved that we got to see Eve in a few years time and how her life had changed, and how what had happened at the end of Book 5, had affected the relationship between her and Mel.

This was the perfect ending to a brilliant series which I have absolutely adored. I was compelled to turn every page as quickly as I possibly could, and devour the story discovering what the future held for them both. And Elaine did not disappoint.

I’d recommend that you go right back to the beginning, buy every single book in the series and be taken on a journey around the world, taking in the sights and sounds with these wonderful characters. You won’t regret it.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
