I simply cannot believe that it’s been a year since my debut novel Amazing Grace was launched into the world.
🎉🎉🎉Happy book birthday Gracie! 🎉🎉🎉
What an amazing day it was. The first knock on my door was from my friend Jo, who brought me cupcakes with my book cover on them, with a bottle of bubbles and an amazing card with a dummy newspaper cover on it. The door then didn’t stop knocking all day with flowers, champagne and cards galore. It was better than a birthday.
Tears appeared many times throughout the day. Messages of goodwill from authors I’ve been reading since they started writing, Jill Mansell and Carole Matthews, from my inspirational colleagues at Bookouture and from the author and book blogging community as well as my friends. By 9am #AmazingGrace was trending on Twitter. Reviews came flying in, one after the other, all fantastic and the response from the blogging community that took part in my blog tour along with those others who read and reviewed stunned me with 5 and 4 star reviews stacking up very quickly.
Hera Books asked Rachel Gilbey to organise a blog tour and oh boy, did she do an amazing job. There were only a few bloggers who didn’t post. Most were amazingly supportive.
It was soon time to head over to the launch party, organised by lovely Dawn, a friend I’ve known since schooldays, who owns The Moat House at Acton Trussell and the sun shone, so we were able to sit out on the terrace by the canal, and the stunning library was filled with love and joy as my close friends and family from many different areas of my life came together to celebrate this momentous occasion. More presents filled the tables, along with more Amazing Grace cakes and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been so emotional! Despite being told not to, my sister did a little speech which was actually lovely! I was and am truly blessed to be graced with such amazing friends and family.
Thank you to each and every single one of you who made my publication day incredibly special, everyone who has bought a copy, and all of you wonderful people who have continued to champion my books since.
I’m truly, truly grateful #Blessed
