Blog Tour – The Paramedic’s Daughter by Tara Lyons

When Tara Lyons asked me to be on the blog tour for her latest book, I was over the moon.

I’ve read Tara’s book before and still have nightmares about one of them! When two delivery men turned up on my doorstep recently, it again, brought her last book to the forefront of my mind and I did hesitate before I opened that door! LOL!

So I couldn’t wait to get my hands on The Paramedic’s Daughter.

About the book

Would you lie to your family to protect yourself?

Paramedic Abi Quinn is hailed as a hero by the patients she saves with the London Ambulance Service, but a secret she’s kept since she was a teenager now threatens to shatter that perfect illusion.

When her daughter Rose goes missing while studying at Brighton University, and ghosts from her past return to haunt her, Abi’s caught in a race against time to untangle the web of lies she set in motion over twenty years ago.

Everyone has something to lose.

Everyone is trying to protect themselves.

Everyone is broken.

But what lengths will they go to in order to stop the truth from being exposed?

Tara Lyons is the bestselling author of The DI Hamilton Series. The Paramedic’s Daughter is a shocking, unmissable psychological thriller which is set to be one of 2019’s stand-out reads. Perfect for readers of domestic noir, it will appeal to fans of authors like Louise Jensen, Shalini Boland and Cara Hunter.

So what did I think?

Well! This book knocked me for six! You are thrown slap bang straight into an action packed thrilling scene right from the very first page which got me literally holding my breath with my hand on my chest when Abi and her partner get called out on a 999 call which got me questioning my own morals and wondering how the hell I’d react.

Being an overprotective mum myself, I totally understand that Abi is completely obsessed when her daughter Rose, who she brought up single handedly, goes missing and she wants to know where she is. When she heads off to Brighton to see if she can find her, a secret from her past which becomes even more of a nightmare, unfolds into an incredible story which has some very serious consequences.

I literally could not wait to find out what on earth was going to happen to the characters in this book and read it while away for a week, doing nothing at all, until I had finished it. It totally took over my life once I started reading it. I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen to these dysfunctional characters!

With an ending that was totally off the scale brilliant, this was one hell of a fantastic, compelling, brilliantly written, heart-stopping read which totally blew my mind!

Well done Tara! You completely and utterly nailed it!
