I’ve read every Milly Johnson book written! I’m her biggest fan I reckon. Not only is she an incredible author, she’s also an absolutely brilliant human being and champion of writers. To be on the tour for Together Again, her latest book is an absolute honour and a pleasure!

About the book

Sisters Jolene, Marsha and Annis have convened at their beautiful family home, Fox House, following the death of their mother, the tricky Eleanor Vamplew. Born seven years apart, the women are more strangers than sisters.

Jolene, the eldest, is a successful romantic novelist who writes about beautiful relationships even though her own marriage to the handsome and charming Warren is complicated.

What did I think?

In true Milly Johnson style, the author has written about issues that normal women go through every day with compassion, empathy, and her trademark humour, making this a particularly thought-provoking novel giving the reader lots of mull-over!

Taking these issues and creating complex characters that we can all relate to, dysfunctional family dynamics are explored in minute detail, and you can tell that so much thought has gone into each word. Milly’s carefully crafted sentences and life lessons speaking a million words, yet are worded so poignantly, that you need to take a moment to read and re-read particular lines, sigh, ponder and then move on.

While I have adored every one of Milly’s books, instead of them getting staid and similar, she excels by each one getting better and more ‘grown-up’, yet still with family and friendship at the heart of what she writes.

Heartwarming and ultimately brilliant! Milly you are a wordy genius!

Milly Johnson was born, raised and still lives in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. She is the author of 20 novels, 4 short story ebooks, a book of poetry and a Quick Reads Novella (‘The Little Dreams of Lara Cliffe’) and was an erstwhile leading copywriter for the greetings card industry. She is also a poem and joke-writer, a newspaper columnist and a seasoned after dinner speaker.

She won the RoNA for Best Romantic Comedy Novel of 2014 and 2016, the Yorkshire Society award for Arts and Culture 2015, the Romantic Novelist Association Outstanding Achievement award in 2020 and the Richard Whiteley Award for Inspiration to the County of Yorkshire in 2022.

She writes about love, life, friendships and the importance of community spirit. Her books champion women, their strength and resilience and celebrate her beloved Yorkshire.
