Blog Tour review – Dead Wrong by Noelle Holten

Well, as I do work with Noelle and love her to bits, I was always going to be part of the celebrations for her second book and I’d like to see the person brave enough to try and stop me being part of her blog tour. It’s always worrying when you are reading a book by someone close to you, just in case you don’t like it, but there really was nothing to worry about with Dead Wrong. It was fecking awesome!

About the book

The serial killer is behind bars. But the murders are just beginning…

DC Maggie Jamieson’s past comes back to haunt her in this dark and gripping serial killer thriller.

Three missing women running out of time…

They were abducted years ago. Notorious serial killer Bill Raven admitted to killing them and was sentenced to life.

The case was closed – at least DC Maggie Jamieson thought it was…

But now one of them has been found, dismembered and dumped in a bin bag in town.

Forensics reveal that she died just two days ago, when Raven was behind bars, so Maggie has a second killer to find.

Because even if the other missing women are still alive, one thing’s for certain: they don’t have long left to live…

What did I think?

Wowsers! Noelle has absolutely knocked it out of the park with another cracking instalment in this fabulous, gripping crime thriller series. I was literally holding my chest in anticipation in parts. It was like watching an episode of Luther as the team put together the pieces of the jigsaw to crack this case.

Working with someone everyday, gives you a little insight into their psyche and I know that Noelle has an awful lot of darkness going on in that pretty little twisty head of hers. Noelle is clearly an expert on the procedural parts of the book, she really does seem to dot the i’s and cross the t’s and absolutely does know her procedural stuff. You can SO tell that this has been part of her life for so long in both her education and her job (before I lured her away to come and work for me!). LOL!

I really like that in this book, the main character is Detective Maggie Jameson, but we are still heavily connected with other members of the multi-agency teams which are involved in the judicial system, many that we met in the first series.

I particularly love the way that she mentions the different agencies and organisations, always explaining their full names before she reverts to the abbreviations so that they are easy to follow.

Noelle’s writing is fast-paced and addictive. It’s gripping and unputdownable. And she certainly knows how to end on cliff hanger!

This is a highly recommendable series. Dead Inside is the first book in the series and is an equally brilliant read.

I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to see what lies ahead and what this super talented author is going to create in the next books in the series.

Don’t just take my word for it though. There is an epic blog tour taking place and all these amazing bloggers will be sharing their thoughts too.
