Dead Secret is another awesome instalment in the brilliant Maggie Jamieson series.
About the book

Psychopaths can take root in the unlikeliest soil…
DC Maggie Jamieson crosses paths once again with Probation Officer Lucy Sherwood when a domestic violence survivor stumbles into her new refuge, unable to speak, desperate for help.
Then another case hits Maggie’s desk. A young man has been murdered, and a curious constellation of black dots has been inked onto his cheek.
That’s when DCI Hastings goes missing and Maggie uncovers a shocking connection that turns the case on its head.
Every family may hide secrets, but not every family buries them…
So what did I think?
This is another fantastic instalment in a series that is getting stronger and stronger with each book.
I love that we are learning more about the characters. I really want to read more about Nathan, because I really like him and would love to learn more about his life away from work. I really enjoyed inthis book how Maggie and Nathan are settling into their new working relationship and loved Maggie’s new partner too and how that storyline developed. I’m really enjoying Lucy and the refuge story too and how that’s progressing.
I’ve said before I’d make the most rubbish detective, and once again, I had no blooming idea of who was up to no good in this book, accusing everyone, wrongly of course, before I found out who it really was and that escalated to a situation where I was really holding my breath.
Noelle seems to be really finding her place writing this series now, and paced this book perfectly to keep the reader’s attention and I love the way that she’s setting up the ending of each book to get the reader gagging for the next one.
Keep them coming please Noelle. This is a tremendous series which I’d highly recommend and am thoroughly enjoying. I’m giving this one ALL THE STARS! ***** Bring on Book 5.
