I love Elaine’s books, so when I saw that she was bringing out a new novella – You Never See Rainbows at Christmas – I was dead excited.

In true Elaine Spires style, she whisks you away to another world where after her plans for life and Christmas change somewhat, Eloise plans to spend Christmas alone. A chance encounter where she meets Adam, who is sleeping rough, changes the course of that Christmas and she ends up spending it in ways that she never expected.
This is such a lovely heartwarming read, with warm beautifully formed characters, that show you that, no matter what life throws at you, there might just be a bright side where you weren’t expecting it.
A lovely short feel-good read, which will warm the cockles of your heart and get you right in the festive spirit.
About the book
Like a rhinestone Miss Havisham, Eloise plans to spend Christmas alone, lying on the settee, crying her eyes out while listening to Dolly Parton’s Greatest Hits. But a fall in the sleet two nights before Christmas lands her at the feet of rough sleeper Adam who is fighting his own demons. Limping, cut and bruised she has no alternative but to accept his offer of help. And instead of rejection, there’s friendship and company. Christmas suddenly seems brighter. Eloise’s never seen a rainbow at Christmas, though. This year might be different.
